(Petro Rabigh) announces the issuance of the Board of Directors’ decision dated 7/12/2020 appointing Eng. Othman Ali Al-Ghamdi as a member of the Board of Directors and CEO of the company. The membership and reporting to work will be effective 1/1/2021, succeeding Eng. Nasser Damascus Al-Mahasher, who submitted his resignation due to his special circumstances. Currently, Othman holds the position of the Chief Executive Officer at Saudi Aramco Mobile Refinery Ltd., (SAMREF) since July 2019. Prior to that, Mr. Al Ghamdi was the Chief Executive Officer of S-Oil Corporation at South Korea from September 2016 to June 2019. During his assignment with S-Oil, Mr. Al Ghamdi was named the best CEO in South Korea for year 2018 by the Korean Management Association. Also, Othman served as Representative Director of Aramco Korea Office in 2015/16 for one year. Othman joined Saudi Aramco as an engineer in October 1990 and started his career at Ras Tanura Refinery where he held various engineering positions. In 2004, Othman moved to International Operation for an overseas assignment at China where he assumed different leadership positions in Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Co. In 2009, Mr. Al Ghamdi returned to Saudi Aramco at Riyadh Refinery as Engineering Superintendent. In June 2012, Othman was appointed as Manager of Ras Tanura Refinery Operations, a post he held until June 2015. Mr. Al Ghamdi completed his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in 1990, and subsequently earned a Master degree in Business Administration at KFUPM in 1997. Mr. Al Ghamdi completed a number of leadership programs since joining the Company, including the Aramco Management Development Seminar and the UEP-University of Oxford Advanced Management Program.
